I need some advice.I am considering going through consumer credit counciling as I have some large debts on credit cards. I do not own a home so I can not get a consolidation loan. My debt is about 18,000. I am divorced and credit cards are in my name.Thank god I removed my self from being an a\u from his cards as he has chosen to blow his debt off. I know this road is not a smart one but I feel I have no choice.Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

You know, most of the stories that you hear about CCCS are really bad, but, I had REALLY good luck w/ them (knock on wood, I'm not quite done yet) All those accounts are either off my report, or didn't show up. I'm hoping the one that didn't show up never does. It's been over 5 yrs now, and my divorce debt is almost gone. I would save for an absolute last resort, because I've heard some horror stories about them. I was a single mom, and my ex husband maxed out all my cards. I didn't have a choice, and I'm glad I did it. Good luck in whatever you decide. I know many here will have some good advice on how to avoid it!!
