In the Washington Post today it is reported that "the Federal Trade Commission has raised the maximum rate the credit reporting bureaus can charge consumers for a copy of their credit report from $8.50 to $9."

So begin forking over that additional $.50 for mediocre service. I'm sure we will begin noticing the changes soon.

WTF!!! I think that them charging us for our history is completely outrageous. Not only do they make money (more I might add) from their subscribers, but they can charge us almost $10 for our personal information? In that case, whe I apply for credit, I'm charging Citi $10 for my personal information on that application.

This is completely rediculous. Especially since they can't maintain accurate information on consumers with all the money they receive from their subscribers and it is our job to do their quality control. What's next??? We pay to have them report information just like our creditors?

    Just my $.02.

I think it is outrageous, too. Personally I believe, every consumer in all fifty states should receive a free credit report from all FOUR brueaus annually. Any costs over and above that is fine, but I think it is silly that the cost continues to rise, but service doesn't. Well, another letter off to my VA delegate. I think he's getting tired of me. :)
