I have a question that is really confusing me regarding what a CA or OC has to put when you validate.
    1. I sent validations to Bealls and Stage both OC's.
    2. I look at my TU and it says (consumer disputes 2X).
    3. Now I did dispute with CRB after I sent validation. I have pulled reports for two months now every week to see if it has changed.

My confusion is- What exactly does the notation have to look like to satisfy the requirment. Per FCRA

Does it have to say "in dispute" or "consumer disputes" is there a difference?

As always thanks for your help..

Original creditors are not subject to the FDCPA so you won't find any notation from them. When you dispute with a ca, it will read "consumer disputes - complies with FDCPA". When you dispute with the cra, it will say, consumer disputes, investigation in progress, or something similar.

Original creditors are bound by the FCRA, section 623. Are they still on your report (the OC?)? If so, yes, they are required to notate the account in dispute while investigating. Check out section 623 of FCRA.

Yes, OC are responsible as furnisher of credit by the FCRA. Will they still notate the same? Maybe say "consumer disputes, satisfies FCRA"? I am using this as ammo and need to be 100% sure.

My report says(TU) Consumer Disputes 2X

Then it says investigation (completed-cust disagress).
