I was just wondering, if virtually every creditor considers the FICO score when evaluating credit, is the consumer statement ever valuable at all? Johnny Blood
So, unless it is a small time creditor (i.e. a landlord, small bank, etc.), the consumer statement is probably seldom (if ever) seen. On the flip side, does it hurt your score to have a consumer statement? Johnny Blood
even a manual review doesnt help with a consumer statement, I had a mortgage lender tell me this flat out. my repo'd car had a consumer statement attached to it. it said the dealer screwed me, blah blah. mortgage company saw it and totally ignored the consumer statement they said 'so what? you still have a repo on your credit report, statement or no statement' the consumer statement is worthless, it makes sense that the statement wouldnt affect your score, otherwise you'd just put a statement on everything. but it really is pointless putting a consumer statement on anything in my opinion.
