There's a site dedicated to to this law firm by what I would guess is (WAS) an "unhappy camper". The judgment is posted on the site. It's against Lenahan Law Office for threaning practices etc. There was also and awarded for FDCPA violations. Hope I post this right! http://www.lenahanlawofficeexposed.com/
As I've said before I think the judges are starting to listen to the consumer and not finding these law suits friviouless! Good Reading!

The telemarketers pushed the limits until they self destructed. I wonder how long it will take the purchasers of old debt to do the same.

I don't think it will be very long at all as long as consumers keep fighting back. The big thing is to document and memorialize every contact with the CA's . They are just now putting the FTC and FDCPA into their vocabularys. I think the tables are finally turning and it's the JDB who is the one starting to worry about getting sued. In the past CA's rarely called anyone that had a clue as to their rights but that has changed greatly with the internet and fourms like this one.

    I just love Budd Hibb's sites... :)

They are really a good fun read... :)

Although I am sure that the reaction in Buffalo isn't as warm to that site...

The link (on left hand side) titled "Lenahan Talk Off Script" shows a script for the legal assistants to follow. Anyone care to comment on any of the statements and how they may (or may not) violate FDCPA? I am looking specifically at numbers 6 and 7.

    This is un-plucking-believeable!

I have (unfortunately) dealt with a collector or two before, but these people just blew me away.

    P.S.

MED, I looked at 6 & 7, but this kind of circular and nonsensical language just totally bummed me out.

All I got was a 500 error, but I can imagine that many CA's don't like him... :) Especially the ones who he has very long and detailed reviews of...

(And a few of them I know from semi-personal experience to be highly accurate.)

    Jam,
Maybe it is case sensitive, try this
    www.budhibbsexposed.com
I just went to the sites and it is definitely there.
I'm not sure how the site can get away with this?

Yes, that is definately going to extremes.

I've never looked at "Budd"'s services, just at the actual portions which talk about the consumers experiences with the CA's themselves.

    Jam,
I agree. Just thought it was a site worth throwing out there. My first impression was that Bud had a lot of experience dealing with CA's and thats not a bad thing! I've gotten a world of info on different sites (including his) and have learned to apply what works for me. Personally I think one has to have been in the credit trenches to really understand it enough to help others! This site could actually work to his benifit! Just my thoughts.

yep, but there is a point at which it becomes overkill, like putting his home (and families home) addresses into the public domain.
