About a month ago I signed up for their free credit report. If I didn't cancel within 30 days, I would be billed $80 for a one year membership. I went on the website and tried to find where I could cancel, but had no luck. So about a week before my trial period was up, I sent 3 e-mails to their customer service department requesting my free membership be canceled as I didn't wish to pay for their services. I never received a reply. Well, I pulled up our online bank statement today and lo and behold, there's a $79.95 charge from consumerinfo inc. I didn't want this and tried to cancel! Now I can't even get thorough to the place without getting disconnected. I want my $80 back!! What else can I do?
For minimum stress, you really have to call to cancel these things, whether it's Credit Watch, Columbia House, etc. I have tried email but the effectiveness is just not there.
