Discover collections is irritating the hell out of me with their idiot collection calls. Is there a letter I can send for them to stop calling me? I can always block their number also, but I would also like to do smth via writing.

    Thanks

You may want to check your state's version of the FDCPA. It may well cover OC's when acting as debt collectors. (Texas does).

Where would we look for state info on FDCPA? Attorney General site, Secretary of State?

It could be 100 different places LOL. Attorney General, a state site, etc. My suggestion would be to google something like "fair credit" and your state, or credit laws and your state, or state statutes and your state.

That ought to get you started.

    Good luck!

This should be the info you are looking for. It was in another post here on creditnet a while back.

District of Columbia and the following states include creditors in their debt collection laws:
Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
