If you were offered the 3.9% State Farm BT rate but did not receive it, I have a name and telephone number for you to call. When you call you may say that your friend David from Las Vegas spoke to her today and that she asked to hear from friends of mine who were offered the bogus rate. Her name is Deanna and her telephone number is 309-766-624. George, she is really interested to talk to you because you've closed your account. I took the liberty of giving her your first name from your PF letters .
Oh -- if/when you speak with her please post your results here. She told me that they will periodically offer balance transfer offers but the one the telephone person quoted me was an error. She said she is going to try to get a BT rate for me and would call me back tomorrow.
LIE TO ME ONCE~~~SHAME ON ME... LIE TO ME TWICE~~~SHAME ON YOU... I DON'T CARE ANY MORE... The ONLY reason I took the account was for the 3.90% BT!!! Not enough numbers for the phone #, if I did call...
They tried to give me a "TOY" card...(80% lower than my LOWEST credit limit)... Then they give me a BOGUS BT... What would come next???
I don't know if I would take the card back even if they doubled my credit limit and gave me a "REAL" BT for 0.00% FOR A WHOLE YEAR!!!
It would be interesting to hear what they had to say to you. Deanna told me there was never any such thing as a 3.9% BT offer. If enough people call to say they were told there WAS an offer, it might help the people who still have their accounts open.
Balance Transfer Terms and Conditions: You agree to allow approximately 30 days to process your balance transfer request, pay the amount and transfer the balance to your State Farm Bank credit card account. Until you confirm that a balance transfer has been completed, you should continue to make all required payments on the other account(s). State Farm Bank is not responsible for any fees or finance charges incurred on an account prior to its transfer, nor for any remaining balance or additional charges in the event the payment amount you authorized does not satisfy an outstanding balance. We will not close your other accounts. In the event you wish to close another account after transferring the entire outstanding balance to your State Farm Bank credit card account, you must still contact the other issuer or creditor directly. The minimum individual transfer request that will be honored is and the total amount(s) paid and transferred under this offer is limited to 90% of your total credit line in order to leave part of your line available. If you submit concurrent balance transfer requests that exceed this transfer limit, we will process your requests from highest to lowest dollar amount, may decline to process one or more requests and will not complete a request by making a partial payment. Your credit card account must be in good standing and State Farm Bank reserves the right to refuse any balance transfer request. Balance transfer requests may not be used to pay any existing balances on any State Farm Bank credit card account, nor can they be processed if made to you or cash. State Farm Bank, in its sole discretion, may allocate your payments to balances with lower APRs (including promotional offers and new transactions) before balances with higher APRs. THIS PROVES THEY DO BT'S AT A LOWER RATE...BUT I STILL CAN'T FIND THE 3.90% IN WRITING... I always try to print out the answers on the application...but this one must have one of those kind that "ERASE" when you try to print it...
This is exactly why I left the account open, I think that people in their b/t dept. must get paid on commission or something, SO THEY LIED, thus them denying it, OFFICIALLY. I was ABSOLUTELY QUOTED 3.9% FOR THE B/T OFFER, I WISH I HAD RECORDED IT. I will be calling tomorrow. THANKS
I TRIED TO DRAW THEM A PICTURE!!!! I said I paid off an account that was 9.99%...WHY WOULD I PAY THAT OFF @ 11.65%???? When I asked for the BT...I SAID THE 3.90% BT...they NEVER said we don't have that rate!!! When I closed the account I said "I WAS LIED TO"...NO comment...NO treansfer to supervisor...NO sorry to lose you!!!
George, I would seriously contact State Farm and Deanna. You may have closed the account, but you're gaining nothing in return. You're letting them get away with their deceitful practices. If more people speak up when they are unhappy (as well as happy) I think you would see a change for the better. Nothing is going to change, unless someone complains. Dani
