good morning, i have a question for everyone and would appreciate some sort of reply. If it is confusing, or Im asking too many questions at once, please let me know.

I have a 4 year old account w Citi. Currently it is in collections, but OC NEVER posted anything to my credit report. If I settle with the CA, will the OC post a bad tradeline? Should I contact the OC to ask about the account- i.e- are they still the owner or has the account been sold, etc? Would a phone call like that make them "verify" the account as a charge off and then post it?

Thanks for any advice. I would settle with the CA if the Oc didnt have anything on all three reports in hopes to later dispute or bump the CA.

In general, any type of contact could have them 'find' your account, and list it to be updated with the CRA's.

Is it within your states SOL?

yes, for 10 more months. I plan on sending validation and keeping a "good faith" attitude until debt is/is not verified. At that point I will have to weigh the outcomes of a:

    1.paid charge off.

2.possible deletion (not a real believer in the CA willing to hold up
    their end on that)

    3. fight off a judgement.

it seems to me though without a negative from the OC in my tradelines that a paid settlement sure beats a 10 year judgement.

Funny how the OC was so adamant about looking into identity fraud
when my wallet was swiped and refused to drop charges that werent mine, but now they list nothing.

Is there a chance that when the CA would settle they may inform the OC? Even when the OC has sold the account?

    thanks

    1*But has the CA?
2*Why not just send the CA the VL?
