Has anyone done this? Does it result in a new account number? Is it a hassle?

yes, maybe, wityh amex you never know, but I doubt it, no, just call regular CS and request the switch, will happen at closing of your next billing cycle, new card will be sent out shortly after.

    WOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got off the phone with Amex cusotmer service.

    AND, GET THIS!!!!!!

Amex: I have processed the switch from Blue to Blue Cash for you effective after your next closing date.

Me: What will my new interest rate be on Blue Cash?

Amex: Under regular Blue, you were at 7.99% fixed, under Blue Cash, I show that your interest rate WILL ACTUALLY BE GOING DOWN TO 6.99% FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    WOW!!!!!! HOLY S**T!!!!!!!!!

I was expecting only to get 8.99% VARIABLE, NOT 6.99% FIXED!!!!!

IT WAS A NO-BRAINER AT THAT POINT!!!!

Thought I NEEDED to pass this along!

    Have a great day!!!!!!!!

LOL, Geroge. You are right, I FULLY expected a rate increase, not a decrease going from non-cash to cash since the lowest rate shown for Blue Cash on the site is 8.99% Variable!!! Apparently they have "other" rates available if they choose to give them to you!!!
