This is situation: Fiance has an old BellSouth bill showing balance of $208. It's being reported by a CA called CBCS. I sent a pansy-ass letter (can I say "ass" on this board?) before I found this board. I had already disputed with the CRAs online and it has been "verified". Questions are: 1) Are utilities like BellSouth bound by SOL? Are their collection agents? 2) Is it possible to settle (pay for deletion) with a utilty or their CA? Basically what I am thinking is that this one will never come off without a settlement, but I am concerned because it is a big utility that never asks for signed docs when you sign up for service. (and someday, when I actually start on my own reports, I have a thousand dollar BellSouth bill that my dear son ran up calling some chick in Australia that he met on the internet a month before he left for the Marine Corps - this information could be useful to me, too) HEY!!!! I just figured something out! This damn BellSouth bill really isn't his! He moved to SC before the year they show the opening of the BellSouth account! Holy Cow! Should I still send the same validation letter?
