I have a paid charge-off with CapOne from 1999. It's being reported inaccurately with all 3 bureaus (listed as "settled for less than full balance" when, in fact, I have a letter proving I paid in full.) I disputed with the bureaus and simultaneously disputed with CapOne. As you might expect, CapOne made no effort to list the account as "in dispute" and verified the incorrect info with each bureau TWICE, even after my creditor dispute. Needless to say, I have them on many violations. Is Mr. Cooke from PFB in a position to "settle" this matter for deletion? Or should I just contact the legal department. I thought I'd ask since I've heard so many positive comments about him. Thanks for the help, Scrivener
I had a very similar experiance with Cap1. Two different accounts, both paid charge-offs, being reported a total of fivedifferent ways. It took quite some time, and a lot of patience, but I ultimately prevailed. Twelve deletions (2 accounts X 3 CR's X 2 people-me and The Lovely Mrs. Quixote). Here's some links that may give you some ammo for your battle. Link 1 Link 2 Link 3
