Ok... I an new to this. There is an account for Household Bank on my TU and EQ reports with a charged off balance of $650.00. I sent Household a validation letter, they wrote back that there was never an account established in my name. Now do I just send copies of the letter they wrote me to the CRAs and they will delete or what? Please help me. I don't want to mess this up. Thanks.
Girliegirl, I would send a copy of the letter to each of the CRAs along with a copy of your dispute letter stating that the account is not yours nor has ever been yours. I would then tell them to delete the account. Some say the CRAs won't accept proof from consumers, but I have never had a problem with them not accepting my paperwork. Good luck. Dani
This is a good time for you to bait the CRA's and then sue them to delete some of your negatives or you can simply have the attention of one of their attorneys. This is what I will do. I will try disputing it and I am sure they will probably verify which you know is not accurate. Request the procedures used and I am sure they will not send it to you. During this process create a nice paper trail and later sue them. I will definitely be sure that this account is not verifiable. I did something similar against Equifax and they settle out of court by agreeing to delete all of my negatives. This is what I will do. It worked for me.
Thanks for the quick responses. I think I will just go ahead and send copies of everything and see what happens. I hope it works! Thanks again.
