    ....cancel my cards?
Alarming news this morning. JP Morgan/Chase is rumored to start merger talks with Washington Mutual, possibly taking over WAMU's credit card operations.
Should this actually happen, can JP/Chase actually cancel my two WAMU credit cards, because back in 2004 I included two Chase credit cards in my Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

They probably could, I doubt that they will. Citi bought companies where I had cards. While I never had a BK, Citi had canceled cards on me or reduced limits when I had my credit problems. When they bought the other companies they not only kept the accounts, but gave me limit increases.

It will probably take several years before they totally merge the operations anyway. I suspect as long as the account is in good standing and you pay your bills on time they won't do anything. If you default, they may go back and check and close the accounts.
