could BofA jack my rate on my truck loan if I close my checking and savings accounts with them? They are charging me 20 bux a month for my account and yes I could downgrade my account but I am going to quit my job soon and thus, will no longer have direct deposit so would get charged a fee even with their lowest checking account so, I am looking to switch banks to a bank that has a FREE checking account regardless of balance direct deposit etc, and they give you 100 bux for signing up I just ultimately want to make sure they can't jack my rate because I am taking my money out.
If you are getting a rate reduction tied to having your paycheck direct deposited into you checking or savings account, then you would lose this discount.
no, I had no account with bofa before I got the loan. I got the checking and savings account after I got the loan, in other words.
"IF" THE CHECKING/SAVINGS/DIRECT DEPOSIT ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THE LOAN INTEREST RATE...they CAN'T jack the rate...
so because the accounts were created after the loan I should not have any problem since we locked in the rate before I had my accounts with them?(just to clarify)
