Firstly ive been checking my dispute status online with experian and 4 of the 5 came back updated and i assume thats bad. The one in particular is a captiol one charge off that is my wifes but i am just an authorized user on. What should i do next about this particular one??? Secondly there are two accounts on my credit report that are in good standing that im an authorized user on (wifes cards) but she always carries her credit limit balances high on. This would affect my credit score correct??? should i have these removed???
That could be a double-edged sword. I *think* that if you have a limited credit history, a little something on your report is better than nothing at all. If you have an extensive credit history and this is account is less attractive compared to the others, them I would consider removing it, especially if it messes with your ratios a great deal. But you must also consider the age of the accounts. The old the better, sometimes even with negatives. That was a hard question, made me think...
As far as your wifes charge-off that you're an AU on. You could dispute it with the CRA's that it's not your account, and thatyou never gave permission to be on the account (just be sure you didn't sign anything with the creditor).
Thanks. I never signed the capitol one charge but the cra reported verified???? So i should send the process letter to the cra on this one correct? should i send a verification letter to capitol one???
