Hermit- I have never ONCE said his name in front my son. I have never once bad mouthed him to my son. In fact part of your post I agree with, it was a mature decision, but knowing him, I don't believe it was what he was thinking at the time. Maybe 20 years from now he will feel remorse, do I care? Not in the least. My husband has been in my sons life since he was 6 weeks old, my husband is all he knows as "daddy", believe it or not that's all that matters to me. For me, it's never been about money, or what a deadbeat he was, it was ALWAYS about what was/is best for my children. Hermit, I was disappointed at his decision because HIS father died in March, and I thought maybe JUST maybe it would change his heart and he would WANT and CHOOSE to be a part of his life, but I was wrong. I asked him a million times if he was sure this is what he wanted to do, he never said it was "best for the child" he just kept saying if I don't have to pay child support anymore than yes. I have NO hate towards him, in fact I am releived he decided this. As much as I want to dislike him, I can't, it's just the way he is. Walk 10 minutes in my shoes and you'll understand Remember this is a chat board, and I don't have time to tell you about the last 4 1/2 years, I'm sure you don't want to hear it either.
