What can I do about this: Last year 7/01 I had these two accounts delted from my Equifax. In 12/01 still not reporting on CR. (1) was over the age (2) was a duplicate of another collection showing correctly as; in BK7 balance $0. I recieved an up dated copy today. There back. (1)now showing LAD as 5/96 reported 7/02. (2) Duplicate back with a new account number, same info, reported 1/02. Plus a CC that was in the bk, sold the account to another company. Now the same Account info, everythig is reporting under the old CCC & under the new one too. So 2 derogatory comments. Another CC that was in the '95 BK7. Never reported on my Equifax before. Was just sold & the new company is reporting it as an R9. With a LAD of 5/96. This 5/96 showed up on a several of the items that were listed in the '95 bk7. That was filed 5/95. Discharged in 9/95. ?????? All others have fallen off. I had gotten my report as clean as possible. Now this again. This does not show up on my husbands, who also held the accounts. Thanks Becky
Is this a re-aging issue? As far as re-reporting negative accounts that have already been deleted, see: http://a1248.svwh.net/BoardFAQ.htm#ReInsertion
Thanks Erik. What can be done about the reaging? What about the duplicate reportings? I called Equifax & the girl told me that both companies can report if they want. Since only one actual owns it, why do both get to report it? Let alone is was all ready discharged in a BK7. This is so frustrating. These items are the only neg left on my report. Becky
For the re-aging issue: "Originally posted by Erica Here's my letter to Experian RE: re-insertion... To Whom it May Concern, It has come to my attention, through recent and past credit reports, that you have allowed information to be reinserted into my credit file that has been previously deleted. Pursuant to the FCRA, I'd like to be provided with copies of the certification required for reinsertion for the following accounts: * * * I will allow you 15 days to furnish this information, however if you do not provide the information requested, you must delete and "cloak" the accounts as required by the FCRA. Thank you, Erica" For the duplicate accounts I would verify them. Only one derogatory listing for one actual account should be on a credit report. In general I don't believe much of what people who work for a CRA say. Remember they are working for the lenders not us citizens. Good luck, you will get there. Fixing credit can take time.
