First, I was reported to Chex Systems by 2 banks- 1) A local bank for NSF and the amount was paid but they will not remove it from Chex Systems, so I was able to get them to write a letter stating that the charges were paid. 2) Bank of America for unsatisfactory handling. I had NSF there and paid this also. Just called to see if they could write a letter or something and they are going to remove it! How long will this take? Should I have gotten something in writing faxed to me? Now, the Equifax question- I am trying to delete my old addresses and to dispute, it is telling me I have to contact CSC CREDIT SERVICES because they own my credit file on Equifax systems. What the hell is that? I don't understand! Also, when trying to dispute personal info., Experian has other SSN's listed for me. Any idea how or why? One more... I wrote an NSF check to Wal-Mart years ago and it went to Wexler & Wexler. I paid it but it is still on my TU report as a collection account. Do I contact Wal-Mart or Wexler & Wexler to have this removed or do I dispute it through TU? Thanks!
In some areas, the major CRA's are serviced by other companies. So you're credit file (although a company could pull it up by the major CRA) is actually handled by another company. -- Try disputing it through TU. If they are showing that a balance is still owed on the account, then its a violation IF they verify that there is still a balance AFTER you dispute it.
Re: CRA & Chex Systems Questions-He Anyone have a website address for ordering one's checksystems report? Was there a fee involved for obtaining the report?
