Is it true that CRAs can delete a tradeline if it is within 6 months of being deleted because of 7 years expiring? Do all CRAs do that or is it just a myth. If it is possible, what do I have to do. I have few tradelines that will be deleted in June of 2005, but would be nice if I could get read of them in January.
It all depends. I know that many of my bad TLs were deleted 1 month early (including my BK!), but to have it done earlier than that, you need to dispute it (preferably with the 1-2 punch). That may get it off early. Why does it work? Because the OC has rolled your data off to tape. The OC may not have ready access to the info and does not respond to the CRA. If you 1-2 punch it, your dispute directly with them creates a situation where they cannot reply to the CRA, hence the early deletion. Good luck.
