I am helping out some friends who recently disputed a few OLD TL on their CR.

The investigation results have not come back yet but the CA sent them a demand for payment letter.no mini miranda or anything,

I have never seen this happen during the dispute process I am guessing that the CA will verify this debt and my friends will have to contact the CA with a letter of dispute and request for validation.

    has anyone else experienced this??

It's one of the many ways to wake the sleeping dog (or giant).

More than likely they will be verifying the trade line.

Is the account still within the SOL?

    Hi Jam.:)

the acct is 1 month away from SOL. I think they should hold off until then from sending dispute and validation request to the CA what do you think?

Did the notice sent by the CA contain the required validation rights notice?

If yes, I would wait until the last possible day (30 days from the date that they mailed it would be safe.) This way the validation period would be unquestioned, and it would just happen to let it time-out the rest of the SOL. :)

If they do provide validation, then well, according to the documentation you provided, geesh, time flies, the SOL expired last week. :) (Not that brazenly of course.)
