I'm in the endgame of getting the junk off my reports and have a couple of questions for the hitters here: 1. An account reported as derogatory both by the OC and a JDB. I thought an account could only be reported once. What is the exact dispute you use to get rid of one or the other? They even are being reported under the same account number, different holders. 2. There's an account listed without even a creditor name. Just some data about a balance with no information at all. Whaddya tell the CRA to get rid of that one? 3. On Experian, there's an old paid off car loan that says under "Pay Status" - late 60 days. The damn thing is paid off 4 years ago. Is that worth disputing? 4. Main Street Corp. is reporting a $141 account as being with Sprint on one CRA and with Citgo on the other 2. How do you go about disputing that one (I know the account is Citgo and Sprint is wrong) Thanks.
1. There will be a tradeline from the OC with a statement showing, transferred/sold. The CA will also report they have the account with whatever the balance is. 2. Dispute it and make them provide the information as to what it is. 3. Might be able to dispute and say never late. 4. Dispute the one showing Sprint if that is the incorrect item, and say it's not yours.
NEVER say an account is not yours if it is. You can honestly say it is inaccurate, but if it is yours do not say it is not. Computers read your letters to the CRA's, not people. So use keywords as shown below. Use the account number precisely taken from your hard copy CRA report from the original CR. That way the computer scanners will be able to pick it up easily. Dear CRA: These accounts are inaccurate. Please delete them from my credit file. XXXX Thanks, Me
