Is there a credit monitoring service out there that will monitor all three credit reports and let you access all three all year round for a yearly fee? I found the service from Equifax and from Experian, but its only for thier reports. I cannot find one for Transunion. surely there must be a cheaper way of checking on your validation entries (ie."account in dispute") then paying $30 a month for individual reports. Thanks for all you help!
At this time, there is no one that offers a tri-merged yearly payment unlimited access account to all three of the CRA's.
Such a service would be a goldmine. I'd pay $100+ a year for something like that. Hmmm, Creditnet 3 bureau Credit Expert.....
You've named a couple that get used regularly around here. www.creditexpert.com is the way to get at your Experian report daily and dispute online, a bit pricey at $80, but *I* think its worth it. Some people have said that they can join for the free 30 days cancel and re-join with a different ID. I just pay for it. Equifax is a rip, but again, not alot of choices here and you can get your true FICO score. I happen to like www.privista.com . A lot of people don't, but it works great for me, especially on notifications. It notifies on account closed (account deletions, my favorite There is www.identityguard.com (burning your $8.95 a month would be better for TU. You can also get your TU report and score for free (from TU's website) by saying you were denied for credit and listing a company and date.
Fortunately, you're wrong, John. First American Credco, which is probably the largest tri-merge report provider servicing the mortgage industry, offers their "Confidential Credit Plus" service which provides unlimited tri-merge reports for one year at just $69.95. You can order that service by calling 1-866-878-6500. By the way, YES, I said "unlimited," lol. However, you don't retrieve the reports instantly online. Instead, you call the toll-free number to make the request, and they mail you your report every time. Turnaround is something like a week. If you wanted to be religious about it, you could place an order every week -- 52 tri-merge reports for $69.95 is a pretty good deal. Hope this helps somebody. Doc
Doc, Does that include FICO score or any score? And I assume (hope) that its a soft inquiry? [edit]I may have answered my own questions. Here's the website: http://www.confidentialcredit.com/CREDCO/
I just spoke with CredCo ... 1) The FICO is NOT included 2) It is a soft inquiry (assuming that means that creditors do not see the inquiry when they pull your report.) Also, its $69.95 and includes quarterly automatic reports to notify you of changes to your credit file, UNLIMITED report at your request, a newletter, tool free number and dispute assistance. Guess the last 2-3 items aren't needed here! hehe. They have to mail or fax an aplication and then you need to mail or fax it back. I have the application in .tiff format if anyone wants it. Once they process the app, you get your fisrt report automatically, then you have to call the toll free number each time you want another one. I figure call them on the 1st and 15th of each month while cleaning credit files to keep tabs on those nasty ca's and cra's. The only negative is that they automatically renew your membership at the prevailing rate every year...so you would have to look out for that. Also, I have calledthe tollfree number 2-3 times today, they answer very quickly. No hold times. I am faxing my app back today and giving them a try!
Charging for reports during a dispute is a fleece. They screw up the reports so they can keep charging you for new ones. They screw them up faster than you can make corrections in order to keep the cash flowing in.
No, it wouldn't -No body ought to get charged for their own report.Especilly when you are doing the CRAs job for them.
