I just received a letter from TU thanking me for my current disputes, and asking me to send them a copy of the discharge papers for my BK...Why do I have to send them these?? Dont they have access to all of this information? I dont even know if I can find those things without getting a copy from the courthouse... Whats the deal with this?
No, they are asking you to verify for them. They are the ones who are supposed to verify info. I have sent them info in the past, only to have it jump up and bite me later.
Amongst other things, I was disputing a judgement by Sears that I said was included on the BK...but if I send them the discharge papers to verify that, it could verify some other things I dont want them to know about... The account was really included on the BK, but cant they find that out....Seems like they are asking me to do their job..
Those famous words that I failed to obtain before beginning my credit clean-up...Now I have to live with (and fight vigorously) 10+ "Included in BK" accounts on each of my reports... Oh LizardKing...I wish I knew you and the rest of the crew back in Aug '01.
