If you have a charge-off that is posted as having a status of "Opened" by one bureau, and "Closed" by another, what is the difference? Does this affect your score differently?

How about the same question, but for a paid collection? I have a "paid collection," and it only seems logical that it be listed as "Closed." Why would it be posted as "Open?"

Finally, is disputing the status--to have it changed--something difficult to have accomplished?

    Peace out.

Disputing these listing's current status would not be difficult at all. It is your legal right to do so anyways. If it's a paid debt it SHOULD be listed as closed so you should definitely dispute this. Good luck to you!
