Hi guys. Just a quick answer to several recent emails I've gotten. I don't do this for a living, it'd be illegal in Ga. I've never charged anyone a dime for my .02 advice I'll always post for free... so you can't fuss at me if I'm wrong I know nothing about judgments, garnishments, and a little about the fdcpa. I know how to rebuild after bk and if you search my name, I've posted lots of details... maybe too many I do, however, know the fcra backwards and forwards because I've had to sue using it. that's all. I posted a lot under Christi's thread and it sound complicated... but really, I've seen plenty of lawsuits in the clerk's offices that only consisted of the standard form and it filled out like this: my name and info Equifax and info Suing for 1k actual damages, 1k fcra violations, 55 court costs. under description: 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. violations (Fair Credit Reporting Act). Equifax left an account on my report that wasn't mine. I was denied a Sears card because of it and I keep writing Equifax but they won't correct my file. this one was settled out of court and that's all that there was on the form. maybe even less. My best suggestion is to really read the FCRA several times and then you'll get how they can violate your rights. and, if you're really going to go down and sue you HAVE TO HAVE actual damages. Get denied for a new card or ask for a limit increase and get denied. Otherwise, there's a good likelihood it'll get thrown out before being heard... although most cases are settled long before the hearing. Hope that answers all the emails sent to me.
