Equifax is reporting a collection account from 1997. The collection agency is listed as "Credit Bureau of Greater Greensboro" . I did some research on them - they are a CRA which seems to have a collections department. It also seems that they were recently aquired by another company "FirstPoint". I disputed the account with Equifax but it came back verified. I'm not sure what to do. Do I send the normal validation letter? BTW, the original creditor has since been merged with other companies twice since 1997.
Which one of the 3 stooges are they with ? This is on Equifax as well as Tu or Experian depending on which one of them Greensboro is affilated with? Send Reg Val. .
The listing only appears on Equifax. Does that mean they are only affiliated with them? I'll have to look into that. I am sending the validation letter registered mail today anyway. I am really beginning to hate Equifax. Not that I like the other two much more! But it just seems Equifax has numerous errors on my report and does nothing to correct them. UGH!
