Generally you would send a Registered Validation Letter to the CA, but you may get a different answer if you provided more information on the status of the account. Like, when was the date of last activity? What is the status of the account, CO? Maybe provide what CA you are dealing with and what state do you live in? What is your goal? Paid as agreed, Deletion??? That would help give you more specific answers to get you down the road.
