I pulled my EQ report on 11/17. All was status quo. I pulled today, and they show soft inquiries from Signet Bank/Virginia dated for the past several months. My Crap One softs of the exact same dates are gone. Anybody know if there is a story here?
Hmm.. that's weird. Signet was bought out by First Union abour 1997-8 and assumed the First Union name. First Union then was acquired by Wachovia. Signet no longer exists.
Well, I had a Signet Bank credit card back in 1991 that was charged-off (this was back in my college days) and then Signet Bank was bought by Capital One...or at least when I tried to contact Signet about paying it at that point their name had changed to capital one and all future correspondence I received was from Capital One. I didn't think Signet existed anymore but there was a time when Cap One and Signet were one and the same.
If you go to the capital one website it says that Cap One started as a new credit card division of Signet Bank. Here's the link.. Http://www.capitalone.com/about/corpinfo/milestones.shtml
Haven't checked mine in a while... just curious, anybody think there is any chance of getting Signet to report limits. Just a thought / wishful thinking!
