Do they have a dedicated "credit reporting" department (and if so, what's the number). Being that the card is soon going to be relegated to sock drawer status after the unsuccesful bargaining session (ie PFB), it's going to have to do some work to earn it's keep in the drawer. For those just tuning in, I disputed the "incorrect" CL a few months ago on TU and managed to get it accidentaly deleted (which sank my TU FAKO by over 100 points), so I'm going to have to try and get it back on.
Who are you, my FICO got screwed too 75 pts and I was on another board, "shit hit the fan" on this topic. We came to conclusion that you had to max it out with a cash advance, and bring it back down. So just two 4 days ago I pull all the cash out of the CAP 1 and brought back down to $20.00 yesterday. Cap1 says they report my account on 28 so I'm holding my breath until the 6/1. What was weird was that on Experian my fico only went down 6 pts, TU and EQ took the dive. I have PG and my fico went from 606 to 534, but the number that PG is reporting does not say FICO???? I would really appreciate you comments!!!!
In my case, the account (on TU) is toast unless I call them up (it's been gone 4 months...it's obviously not coming back by itself). Like you, my next step after it comes back (IF it comes back) will be to raid a cash advance (or a purchase check if they throw one in with the next bill--no transaction fee) and pay it back once it posts. Probably going to cost me $50+, but at least it'll be closer to correct CL than it is now.
I don't dare dispute it on either of the other two, so I just left it as is (though I'm definitely being screwed by their incorrect reporting). Haven't checked the (TU) FAKO lately to see how bad it is.
Couldn't edit the previous post...TU FAKO is back up to 651 so I gained back some of the points I lost from Crap 1 being dropped (should be back over 700 if I get it back), but I'm being screwed on EQ by the incorrect reporting (down to 721 from 73x previously). CRAPITAL ONE IS EVIL, don't let anyone tell you different.
Well I'm serously thinking of closing the card out, and if they don't report the correct info. I'm going have it removed under FCRA. I maxed the card out and pulled it down to $20 let's see what happens, If I'm not happy CapOne is out the door. They are offering me a $5,000 credit card for my business, but I'm leery due to their EVIL nature. I'm sure somebody in management figured out how to report it so that it brings your fico down as much as possible.
