Ok this is my situation..I've almost got a clean report except for some very old public records which im not even sure are mine. frequently I get other people's information on my report with similar names. I have one tax lien still on my report from 1990...it doesnt show a release date but if im not mistaken it was an error by my tax preparer and was paid immediately and released. 2) I have 2 judgements for medical bills which may or may not be mine..and the date reported for them is May 1995, therefore they should drop off this may 2002.

Now should the tax lien still be reporting after 12 years? and will the other public records fall off or will i have to write the CRA and demand they come off?

PS.... If the public records dont come off do i write the CRA and tell them they are not mine..or that the SOL for reporting the negative has expired?

    Thanks

Unpaid tax liens can be reported forever. I would get that file from the court. Chances are it is archived and you will have to pay to get it. You will have to show them it was satisfied. Once you do that it should come off, because the reporting time for paid tax liens is 7 yrs from the date released.

Same with the medical judgments. Get the file, so you can establish whose it is. If it isn't yours go get 'em. I know they will give you a hard time, and you can catch them "doing their thing" - saying they won't accept your information, saying it is verified, etc, etc....
