I just pulled all 3 fico on myfico, and my scores are NOT even CLOSE to what myfico says is my fico scores. What now? I might as well declare BK since it will erase my record. Please post suggestions on the negs of BK and if it will be faster for me to go that route vs fixing this fricken mess... Look at SIG... the CRA's LIE!!!
oh, should I include my Amex collection in a BK if I go that route? or should I pay that one off so that I will someday be able to get one?
It's a lot easier to repair a satisfied debt than one that can still be collected. The problem with not going BK is that the debt is going to be sold and sold and sold for up to 7 years and everytime it's sold, someone else is going to report it to the CRAs.

AtlantaGA ***************** 1*No it's not because you loose your leverage once it's paid. Also you loose certain asvantages of law on paid accounts. 2*7 years is still shorter than 10 for BK. Like a BK will improve your FICO OR FAKO? Why not go the long route and start disputing everything - challenge all derogs and spend a year in credit repair. It ain't ALL the CRA's son - some of what's there has GOT to be at least partially truthful. You don't get a whopping 500 FICO score by paying all your bills on time all the time.
I have to agree with the rest of the board that you should sit back take a deep breath and look at ALL of your reports and see where you should start the often long process of cleaning up your reports (NOT BK). If you need help in understanding what is on your reports you will find plenty of great people here that will be happy to help you out. It will take some time but you should start to see little improvements here and there that will help keep you motivated to continue on with the battle. Remember even if you start to receive deletions on your credit reports that does not always translate into a great FICO score but donâ??t get down on yourself because the cleaner your reports the better chance you have of rebuilding and raising those FICO scores. Good luck
I think the most frustrating thing is that I went from perfect credit in 2000 to the bottom in such a short period of time. Amex was my downfall. Allthough there is a couple errors on my report, I know everything on it is pretty accurate. I guess this is my frustration, its accurate, I screwed up. I lost my job and things took a big crap in my life. The only real errors that are on my report right now is one car loan which is being shown 2 times on eq and TU. The only thing is why remove it when it is showing a positive? If I remove this item, I will have 1 less positive with a never late (since inception over a yr ago) Should I remove this inaccuracy? Some of the other bad stuff that was on there has since been deleted since people don't like responding to the CRA's in the 30 day time period... this is good for me and has improved my score. I LOVE THIS BOARD!!
You can repair the damage you have now easier than a BK. I had over $70K in unsecured debt and the bottom had fallen out of my credit. I don't even know what my scores were, but I know they were low. I could only get a mortgage at about 11% to refinance and pay off debts. Now I have scores in the 700s and debt below $25K (some of it I don't intend to pay off because the rate is so low). I never filed BK. You just have to put your mind to it. As others have said, the most important thing is to manage what you have now. Pay your bills on time and keep your ratios down. Work on cleaning your reports at the same time. It will come, just be patient.
One thing to do is to get a second job, even if it's working at 7-11 or flipping burgers at McDonald's. Put every penny you make on that job toward your debts. True, you don't have much of a life for a while. But in the end, it will be worth it.
once I catch up on my bills, everything will be fine. Almost there. With my salary, I will have an extra 800 bucks a month, and once I pay off my car on tax day, along with my 3k bonus in jan or feb, things will be golden. I'll have an extra 500... so that means 1300 bucks a month (realistically 1000) going towards debt. The debt I have is 38k in student loans, 13k for my 2nd car, 2500 credit card, 2k mbna loan, then my amex and providan charge off's 4k. All my wifes charge offs will be coming up in the next 6-12 months, so I won't be paying them off.
Re: Re: CRA'S SUCK !!! BK Iminent!! Make sure you ALWAYS seek to pay for deletion only!! In some cases this cannot be helped (home loan) but most of the time if you can afford to battle it out a little insist on pay for deletion. Of course always get everything agreed to in writing. You may also want to try PFB for any late pays etc that you think the OC may be willing to remove for you. Keep us posted on your successes. Good luck
Re: Re: CRA'S SUCK !!! BK Iminent!! Over the phone, asset acceptence said that they never do that, anyone know anything about them? PFB hasn't worked with household auto finance, anyone ever deal with them?
Re: Re: Re: CRA'S SUCK !!! BK Iminent!! They all say that. Write 'em a letter telling them what deal they'll have to take, and wait 'em out.
Re: Re: Re: CRA'S SUCK !!! BK Iminent!! any dept in particular that I should address the letter to? How much time should I give them to respond? I am also assuming that I should send the letter which costs me almost 4 bucks so that I get a green card, am I right?(certified read reciept)
