    I have a SIL who changed her name after she filed Bankruptcy. This was before she married my brother. I think it caused some confusion, because she had no problem getting credit after that.

    I have always suspected that the legal name change confused the CRA and the Bankruptcy subsequently disappeared. Not 100% sure though.
