Has anyone ever heard of this company? It says the pulled my CR not once but twice in the month of march.. In the descripition it says it a misc reporting agency.. if its a CRA why would they need to pull my EQ twice?????

Credco is a name I've not heard in years now. They were a CRA. I was a loan officer in the 70s and I used to (I kid you not!) call them on the phone and handwrite down the credit ratings on my clients -- weird huh? Computers were only run on mainframes back in the day...

I remember they were bought out by another CRA, but can't for the life of me remember who that was. This is all back in pre-Internet time.

    Didja Google them?

Did you purchase your cr's thru a 3rd party reseller?

I actually almost went to go work for them back in december (2003). Now they are one of the largest re-sellers of credit reports to companies. Whats cool is they will customize any report and have it displayed so that it is easy for your employees to read. They do have thier standard reports but they also do the custom reports, also they are really big on selling their merged reports and other related stuff. i think their website is www.credco.com

I have signed up for a couple of those 30 day trial things to get my credit report.. such as PG
however...these were 2 hard inq.. if you get your own credit report that is a soft inq right??

credco is not a cra but a tri-merge data supplier (i use them). you need to contact them to see who requested your credit report.

i want to add that whoever requested your credit report from them is liable to prove PP - not credco. a bank (or whatever) signs an agreement stating that they will only request reports in which they have permissable purpose (which deems credco not liable for non-authorized inquiries).

have you applied for anything on or around the dates of the inquires?

I dont recall applying for anything around those dates.. Now before I came to this board I did apply for a few credit cards but those cards are showing up on my credit report..........

hmmm I can think of one possibilty now that I think of it.. Lending tree..but I only used that once... so if thats the case there should be only 1 pull.. Not 2..
