Can anyone share thier experience about how moving to a new address has impacted thier credit scores? Next month I will move into a new house in the same town. I have lived at my current address for 4 years. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I can tell you that I missed a payment because of a move when the creditor didn't update my new address. Remember, calling to change your address will not protect your rights. Nor will sending the post card supplied by the post office "moving" pack. Be diligent with respect to writing everyone (at this point I'd do it certified rr but you probably don't have to) and remember to ask for written confirmation that they have input the change.

I don't know, but I will be moving in about 1 month. I'll let you know if anything happens. I will tell you however, that the bureaus don't seem to be all that concerned with updating addresses. Hopefully, it won't have much affect on my score. But, it will affect any creditors I apply to as they always ask how long you've lived there. Hopefully, my increase in salary will make up for the change in address.
