Need to update the list ...

You have listed >>> Newport News/Spiegals/Eddie Bauer (www.spiegals.com/home.asp ) Credit Card Approvals with BK

I had the old Eddie Bauer card, never missed a payment, paid it off early.

When I came upon an ad on their web site for the new card I called and asked for one. They didn't take much info over the phone, and it really didn't even seem to me like a new application process.

Well two weeks later I have received my rejection letter. The only reason given is that my credit report shows a BK.

My BK was filed in '95, discharged in '96, And I have established credit over the years since then. Sounds like this new company "World Financial Network National Bank" automatically black lists you for a BK.

I think we should blacklist WFNNB. I tried for 2 different retail cards with them and both came back with the only reason for denial as Bankruptcy.

I want to be sure that the reason is there is a BK reporting as opposed to blacklisted because you had a BK that included an account with that particular company! I appreciate the link..thanks..:)

Re: Need to update the list ...

In response to NanaC. No I did not have a card with any of WFNNB retail store before. So I guess the rejection was primary because of the BK7 which is now 1 year and my Equifax score was 632 at the time and both inquiries show up there.

    Thanks

Wow. Good to hear Mazda is BK friendly. Wish I had known that sooner! How did you initiate the loan, just use an online app?

Re: Re: Need to update the list ...

My BK7 is over 7.5 years old. Dummy me, I thought since Best Buy was Household Bank issue, I'd have a chance, I have an Orchard Bank Master Card which I have used quite a bit over the past two years, I have never missed a payment, usually pay far more than the minimum on a regular basis. I also have a Household Bank auto loan that I have paid on time for nearly a year and a half.

No Luck, like you, their store card division automatically declines any app that has a BK on record. I have a hard time understanding the logic in a company granting me a $25,000 loan to buy a new vehicle, but denies me a store credit card for $250.

    I agree. Its stupid.

I have other cards with decent limits and APR's and a good score. Yet when I applied, DENIED. Reason was BK. But you do qualify for Household GOLD card!!!!

I was like, yeah right. I'll go buy from Circuit City instead. They lost a couple thousand right there. Oh well, there loss not mine.

    BofA NOT BK FRIENDLY!

According to the CS supervisor I just spoke with, BK is not alright for seven years!

Even a secured card will not be ok'd with a BK for five years.

Thanks, I'll update! And, I'm sure sorry about the denial!!

SCMOMof5: Best Buy was on the list already in the BK Unfriendly, I believe. Thanks for the update on the fact that they are still the same, though! It's good to know if the policies change so they are invaluable!

Thanks so much for the other info, as well!!! Will update accordingly!

What does AM APC stand for? Sorry..it's probably obvious...lol

Direct Merchants Bank needs to be removed since they are not taking applications for credit-cards anymore.
