I was turn down for a Generations last year. (my 5th year post bk-13).

So make sure that Generations do approve at the 6th year mark.

NanaC, thanks for getting together this list

I am very interested in avoiding a "hard inquiry/declination". I am 6years past CH13 BK, and this spring is my first foray into getting credit credits.

This thread has probably helped more people than you know, NanaC. "What can I do credit-wise after bankruptcy?" has got to be one of the most commonly asked credit related questions, and Nana's list pulls it together like nothing else I've seen on the net. (And I'm a credit website ho, so I definitely know what I'm talking about, lol!)

Add Mervyn's to the list. We got it about 2 years post BK, scores in the high 500's at the time. It is Retailers National Banks, same as Target. They do CL increases about every 3 months if you ask.

Don't know what to say as my score at that time was 650 and my household income was about 100k. Debt rati was high, about 65%. BUT the reason for rejection was the bk-13 (filed in 1996)

Add Washington Mutual Visa secured card issued by Citibank N.A. South Dakota to the list. I got approved with a prior bk that is 5 years old and I also included Citibank on my bk.

    NanaC,
in a moment of madness, last month I applied online for Juniper when Equifax score was at 701. (What was I thinking? ) Got denial letter. Reason given, presence of Bk on CR

    Hard inquiry on Equifax

13Bk filed june '96, fully discharged dec '2001, will fall off no later than June 2003

Re: I"ve updated the list-hope it helps

Household denied me for a Best Buy card, and the only reason listed was "Bankruptcy" Filed 11-98, discharged 2-99, Ch7. Have a Providian, opened at 600 in 2000, now 4100. Had and closed a Cap 1 card. My wife had a Discover, and they added me as a joint on her account. And they were one of the cards that I had on my BK. My question is, I need to refi a 19% auto loan from a year ago....any suggestions?

    2+ years Mid 600 scores:

Did we add the RNB Target Visa?

You got larger credit lines when they first began, but they have no bk filter on application and seem to run solely on scores. Mid 600s will get you 500-1000 with 18.9% no annual fee. The no annual fee is nice.

Search the board for methods to quickly reduce the apr.
