It is better then my 1/10th toy card I have from Fleet. That card has an APR of 28% and a credit line of $100. I use it to bill my cellphone to every month. It is also my oldest tradeline and the only bankcard that survived my BK from 1997.

    Nana C,

For Nextel, I am not sure if it is a "must" for post 7 years. That was the age of my BK at the time of my application.

For Home Depot, it is listed three times. Is there a difference in type of accounts? You have it listed under 2+ years rebuilding and as #2 & #10 under No BK.

Does anyone know if MBNA accept BKs listed on an applicant's credit profile?

    Thanks

    KK

I applied in 2001 with a bk-13 on file from 1996. Denied due to bk on file. Spoke to the credit officer and was told that MBNA might reconsider 7 years after a bk. Also two hard inquiries on my cr as an added bonus.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

Thanks, I'll take care of that asap. I may run late on updating. I will get to it, though, I promise.

My absence from here resulted from a sick family member. Had to work with hospice, etc. My uncle passed away last night. Missed everyone here...

I guess I'm out of luck here. I just filed chp7 6/02 and included Cap1, Providian, and Ford. Although right after I filed I got a preapproved CC from Household for $500 cl and 21%apr. I don't think I can apply anywhere else, according to the list, to rebuild my credit.

What is FCNB? Is this a bank card or retail?

FCNB is First Consumers National Bank.....I had a secured card wuth them years ago when I was starting out. They are in Oregon.

Not sure how they are in this market. I have a charge off with tem for 8k and I know some people that have burned them big.

I would also add to your 1-2 year list:

XXX. Auto loan (D-B grade loans, 10% higher than "A" loans)

And to your 2+ Years Rebuilding:
XXX. Auto loan (B-A grade loans, 2-10% higher than "A" loans)[/quote]

Also, Most mortgage companies won't do an "A" grade loan until you are 4 years out of BK.

Sorry to hear about the loss NanaC.

My husband and I both got unsecured cc's from Wescom Credit Union recently. You need to be in S.CA to join the CU.

We followed Jim's advice and also just got Nordstrom's cards. We did it the way he suggested as in calling and confirming their policy with a rep. Not applying online. I think Nordstrom's is already on your list.

We are 5+ years post BK7. We may have been able to get these 4 cards years ago but didn't know it. I only found this board a few months ago.

My chapter 7 BK was discharged 3 years ago. With fico now up around 670, Lowes (monogram) gave me instant approval for $1000 but still allowed me to buy a $1200 refrigerator, 0%interest, no payments until October 2003. Most notably, Washington Mutual gave me a $920,000 mortgage @6%.
