I have a credit card account with a charge off status showing a zero balance. The account was opend in 2000 but wasnt deliquent untill 2003. When can I dispute to remove this off my reports? Thanks!
The negative entry on your CR is reportable based on when it went delinquent, not when it was opened. Was it in fact paid off after charge off, or just sold off, and the collection account just hasn't showed up yet?
It was charged off, I never paid anything else on it since. Here are the credit report remarks for this account: Remarks: [TransUnion] Charged off as bad debt Purchased by another lender [Experian] Purchased by a another lender. Unpaid balance reported as a loss by credit grantor. [Equifax] Account transferred or sold Credit card I want to know when I can dispute this off my credit report. Everything says 7 years, but I know of peoeple who go similar reports removed as soon as two years. Does anyone know if I have a chance? There hasnt been a reporting since 2004 on this account also. Thanks, Matt
I have a four accounts with the same company that were in 'charge off' mode. They were showing a balance. Now Equifax has reported an 'update'--three of the four accounts are NOW showing '0' balance and the status says 'PAID/Payment after charge off'. Now clearly since I haven't paid it or made a payment, it means that they've been sold, correct? that seems to be the big dilema, what does Paid/payment after charge off mean? sold? The company is still holding the one account, its the largest of the four. thanks, Imkimssis
You can try to have them removed. Look closely at them and see if there are inaccuracies. If there are, dispute them.
