I have 2 cc accounts with providian. One of them I have no trouble at all with, but the second is another story. I have not gotten a statement from these people for this one acct. since April, 2002. I have called Providian 4 times and nobody can seem to tell me anything. All I get is that "it was mailed". The address they have is the correct one. I keep sending my payments to them on time every month, but have no way of knowing if they are even posting the payments properly, nor how much my balance is. Anybody have any suggestions how I should handle this? Thanks alot...ed

Go online and register your account on their site. Once registered, you can see daily postings to your account...make payments online, etc!

I do this with every credit card I have...definitely worth it!

I would check on the FCBA (Fair Credit Billing Act). I think it is on the fdic web site. I don't believe they can charge you interest if they don't mail you out a statement!

Don't quote me on this til you read it though!

These people keep saying they have mailed the statement to me every month. It's funny that I get the statement for one card as regular as clockwork, but this acct in question never seems to get here. The checks I mail clear the bank, but I have no way of knowing if the payments are getting posted. Whenever I call customer service I get the telephone equivelant of a big DUH!.....ed

Without the statements how do you know you're paying at least the Min. Pmt.?
The due date on some credit cards can very from month to month so how do you know its on time each time?

I have had several conversations with these people. I am sending well over the minimum each month to cover the payment.

Re: Re: Re: Credit Card Help!

I had called the cc company last April to close out my cards. I am trying to pay them off. Since then I have not received the statement for one of the cards. I keep calling them and they keep telling me the same old thing.....it was mailed...during the course of the conversations I know when the due date is every month, and the amount of the minimum payment when this started last year, which was right around 61.00. I have sent them $115 a month ever since, but with no statement I am getting concerned that the payment is being posted properly. I have had credit cards with providian for over 6 years and have never had a problem with them, but this is starting to get me a little concerned...ed

    This is wild !
I'm getting to post for the price of one somehow ???You might call them and ask them what the pay off is and see what you can find out from that.

Maybe somebody is stealing them from the mail.
That is what happens with ID theft a lot.
I don't blame you for being concerned.
