A friend of mine applied for a secured credit card a couple of years ago. She sent in a $50 deposit, then never heard from the company again. How can she try to track down the company and possibly get her money back when she cannot remember the name of the company?
Did she send a personal check as her deposit ? If so this will be traceable. If not I am perplexed at what she could actually do. Did the pull a credit report in conjuction with her application ? There may be a possiblity the inquiry may still be there, depending on the length of time this has been since the application was submitted. Hope you are able to find the company and get your money back.
She may be able to trace it by finding out who cashed the check, but being that this happened 2 years ago and she doesnt even know the name of the company it doesn't look too good.
