No problem. Read, write down your questions, and you will get lots of help. Relax. You are in the right place. There are a lot of other people on here who've been where you are. I just wanted to make that one point, stop paying now, and stop talking to them, until you get your "education." Handle it however you wish, but you are hurting your chances of getting this removed by doing what you're doing. If you listen to the CA's you will be in credit hell forever. Paying helps them, not you.

Now here nothing looks wrong. I still plan to pay off the bounced check to CompUSA, can I get that totally off my credit record do you think? Everything else looks right... Im guessing I cant do much about late payments. And the best buy card... well thats what this whole mess is about.

Isnt capital one hitting my credit record just a BIIIITTTTTT too much? Or is that normal since I was past due for such a long time till I got caught up? (Theyve been paid on time for the past 6 months)

I have no idea who Hamilton Capital is nor Direct Lending Source.

Capital One is bad about doing Account Reviews every month for their sub prime cards.

Account Reviews don't count against your score, and no one else ever sees them.

Hamilton and Direct Lending Source got PRoMotional info, they didn't see your whole report. Just header info and maybe your score. No one else sees those inquiries either.

Arrow pulled a hard on your report, nasty little buggers - those DO count against your FICO and look BAD to anyone who reviews your report.

NM On that :) I see the AR and PRM are not reported, they are promotinal and AR is a current creditor.

OK, you are paying a collection agency - HHB sold the account. Who is the collection agency? That's what you want to know now. Got any correspondence from them?

The check, I agree, Certegy has the account. If you have a "story" behind the bounced check, use it now. I would write a nice letter explaining whatever circumstances (illness, job loss, etc) and ask them to consider helping you by deleting the entry on your credit report. They will say they can't but write the letter anyway.

Chances are, you are also on chex systems. Get a report from them, also.

There are 3 major credit bureaus, get the other 2 reports, and see what is on them.

You are on your way! It can be done.

Sorry, I forgot - answering a lot of stuff this morning.

So, you sent them a validation letter, they haven't responded. See if they have an entry on the other 2 major bureaus. They can't continue collection efforts until they validate.

Also, do a search for "arrow" and read up on them.
Now, go read, I have to go to work. ;)

TCF Bank is something I forgot about... Ill pay that off to get that covered.

Overall it looks like mostly what I have on there is late payments... no real way to get thoose off is there?

Household bank is on all of them, which is what this whole situation is about.... however it looks like when Arrow took it over they never put anything on my credit report... so should I just leave it as is unless they add it to my credit report?

Oh ya and Corporate Receivables are the bastards who had my Best Buy account before Arrow... the ones who had it for 6 months and during that WHOLE time they kept charging me intrest and fees even tho I couldnt make a normal payment to household! They said I had to deal with Corporate Receivables.

ALL of this was during the time they wouldnt let me make normal payments!

So basically $400 in fees because they wouldnt let me pay!

    This was kind of ironic...

Ok, as Breeze said now is the time to read, read, read. Your best advice is not to pay anybody or do anything until you have a handle on whats going on.

If you so choose to pay some of these accounts, there are ways to pay them and make them disappear from your reports completely.

If you fire off checks to these people, then you will have paid collections on your report for the next seven years or so. THESE ARE JUST AS BAD AS UNPAID COLLECTIONS.

Oh Corporate Receivables just pulled a copy of my report is all. Basically the whole situation was like this... in January 2002 Corp Receivables began trying to collect the debt for Household bank. At that point Household would no longer accept montly payments from me, however they continued to send me bills and charging me fees. This continued until October of 2002 when the debt got sold to Arrow.

Now the only thing on my report is that Household transferred the debt to someone else, which is Arrow. Arrow has not posted anything on my credit report as of yet related to this debt.

On 10/28 I sent a validation letter to Arrow, I never received a response. So right now, this is where Im at.

  14. jlynn

    jlynn Well-Known Member

Yea, I caught that after I posted, and changed it!

Arrow can't put anything on your report until they validate, or that will be your first violation.

Ok about the certegy part on my EQ report, I contacted Certegy and they say EQ is handling it... EQ says Certegy is handling it... should I just dispute this since both have no clue whats going on and hope they dont verify? Its a check for $78 I bounced at CompUSA.

Send a validation letter to whomever is reporting it. CRRR. Once you get the green card back, then dispute with the CRAs.

If they do validate, come back and ask, someone will help you with payment for deletion.
