You do have some additional rights because of using a credit card to make the purchase, under certain circumstances. If the store will not take back the item, you may be able to utilize a "dispute" in order to get a refund. Many platinum cards come with extra buyers protection , etc, to cover you in this event. Read your member benefits, and certainly call your credit card company. like my cap 1 secured card, i didn't know they had a merchant resolution department who will abritrate such things for you as a "hidden" benefit of being a member.
