    Hello all,

I have a federal tax lien from unpaid taxes from living abroad for a year. I'm working with the IRS to reduce it, and pay it. However, in the meanwhile, it's on all 3 reports. Other than the lien, my credit is perfect. Interestingly, my scores still read in the 700's, even with the lien. However, I keep getting rejected for a credit card because of the lien.

Does anyone know of a credit card company that will grant credit cards to someone with a tax lien?

    Many thanks!

I don't know of any specific credit card companies, unless you start to look at credit cards specifically for people with damaged/bad credit. With a score in the 700s, that's not you.

The tax lien, especially if it's still unpaid, is going to be a real drag on your credit scores. And I think it will continue to be a major red flag to any credit card company, regardless of where your FICO score stands.

Take care of paying it first, and then I think you should have a better shot at getting a n
ew credit card (Average/Fair credit range) from any of the major credit issuers.
