I am sending off for my credit reports today. Newbie to start credit repair. However in the mailbox was a "preapproval"(yeah right) offer for Household(??) national bank credit card. Anyone ever heard of them? Anybody have the card? Are they legit? Or are they a scam-line of credit only to buy high priced items from their crappy catalog? Anyone know?

Household bank is the same bank that issues Best Buy store and GM prime cards. They also offer a basic M/C and the orchard bank card for lower credit scores. Most on this board say that it's a good card, although service has been slipping slightly, lately. I have the GM card and Best Buy card with good limits, but can't speak to customer service yet because I've only had them for a month. Interest is acceptable, and the GM 0% BT was most helpful.

All in all they are one of the better companies for sub-prime and just-into prime cc.

I'm not sure what your credit looks like, so you may want to wait on applying for anything until you can find out exactly where you stand in the credit game.

    Good luck!

    1) does it say it is a VISA/MC???
    2) does it say you need to pay by checking account some ILLOGICAL AMOUNT LIKE $195.00 before they give you anything (WON'T ADD IT TO YOUR FIRST STATEMENT)???

IF NO ON QUESTION #1~~~TRASH IT!!!
IF YES ON QUESTION #2~~~TRASH IT!!!

IF IT IS THE "REAL" HOUSEHOLD BANK...YOU SHOULD BE FINE
