Most offer limits over 10K, doesn't mean everybody's gonna get one.

I feel you, but what i was looking for were ccards that tend to start off in the hight end range. Example MBNA World Points..........

Will do you have a long credit history and high income? I wonder how many people really get these 100k cl's, at least initially. (unsecured)

Highest initial lines I've gotten are Citi for 10.5, MBNA for 15.5, Advanta (business) for 12.5 and BofA Business for 10.

I have a fairly high income. My history is short. But the highest cl i have gotten was 10k. That was the initial cl. I know some cards start at like 10k or better that is what i was asking about.

As a banker, I've seen Wells Fargo approve some applications up to $15k, but it's rare.

I hear ya!!!! No jk. I think that the longer history helps your initials. My shorter history (really good aged off and then the icky was deleted left me with about a 5 yr history) So I have good credit again, and I cannot complain with what I've been offered recently. I was just curious because I know you have some good cards etc.

The most impressive low credit history card I've seen was my friend who only had 3 $1000 cd secured loans and one credit card with a $1000 limit. The oldest thing was about 3 years old. I added him as and au on a cc from 97 with a $25 k limit. He was approved for $14k for the quicken card and $11 k for the hilton hhonors card. In six months or so he will combine the two. My jaw dropped, it took me quite a while to get up to $25 k. Piggybacking credit is what I call it-- and its safer than co-signing!

I'm surprised they didn't just write it off as an AU card. When I was getting my first prime card I was AU on my mom's newer b of a card with a 10k limit and they specifically said, is there anything besides this AU with a higher cl? (She didn't add me to her and Dad's 30 yr old 30something thousand cl bank one because she thought he'd say no. Funny thing is, at the time I thought "wow how could anyone get a 30k limit?!?" We've come a long way baby!)
    PS are those citi cards?

Will...I know you are right and it can only get better from here. I think it's addicting for my personal credit, when its been so long since I had real cards and now everyone wants to give them to me. Business speaking, we HAVE to develop business credit and that's going a little better. I wish I had thought of that before I got the cards I did, however, once these inq's age a little I'll try to get a little more. See what offers I get. :)

both of the cards were citiusa and I think they might have only been using computers to decide limits. Didn't Butch make some posting about which cards only do automated decisions? I think citiusa might be a prime candidate.
