I've been reading this board for awhile, this is my first post. I have to say, this has been quite an eyeopening education to the whole credit card process. At first I didn't get all the lingo but eventually, it's coming together. Please forgive me if I ever sound "stupid" in any of my questions! I've read that some of you regulars have a bankruptcy in your past and you are now rebuilding. Have you been able to get a secured card or new card from a creditor who you had included in your BK at some point in the future? I have read both good and bad about some of those that offer secured cards. Any advice? Thanks in advance...
I never applied for or expected to receive a credit card again from any of the 6 credit card companies I included in my Chap 7 BK. I got a 1K Cap One card the month I filed my BK. Then 2 credit union cards. MBNA sent me an offer early on and I did not respond. There is more to the story here but I think I have answered your question.
Ok, this happened to me but I believe the consensus is it doesn't happen now.. But, I did receive an Amex after a bankruptcy in which they were included. I have since closed the account and it is listed as closed by consumer, paid never late. But, like I said, this is not supposed to be a possiblity now.
