Credit check for Auto Insurance

    Most, if not all auto insurance companies do a credit check before giving a quote or issuing a policy. If you shop around there may be several hits on your CR. From what I've read , if those hits are in the same catagory... homeowners, vehicle, mortgage, credit card, does this mean those hits are minimized(?) I'd like to shop around for car insurance online and most if not all ask for your SS# before they will give you a quote.

    For purposes of scoring (at least with FICO), they will only be counted as one as long as they're within 45 days *I believe*.
