Is anyone familiar with the CR checks done by banks to open up a new checking account with check card? I am thinking of going with Huntington - and they do check CRs. Is this a hard or soft? What are they looking for? Chexsystems is clear.
THEY ARE LOOKING TO "SEE" IF YOU WILL BOUNCE CHECKS...JUST LIKE THEY LOOK ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT TO SEE IF YOU WILL HAVE ACCIDENTS, TICKETS AND CLAIMS WHEN YOU HAVE CAR INSURANCE!!! I would tell them FLAT OUT...NO CREDIT REPORT!!! Take your own with you... If they say they must pull...take your money and WALK!!! ...or ask what barring a credit report has on writing checks... As far as HARD or SOFT it is hard to say...there is NOTHING different except with a SOFT, the score does not take a HIT...
