Hello, I'm hopeful someone knows the answer to this question.

yesterday, I received a collection letter from CAMCO stating they had purchased my Wells Fargo account from Midland Aquisition Corp. The problem is this: I do not EVER remember having a Wells Fargo CC and if I did, it was so long ago 13+ years as the name they provide I haven't used in atleast that time frame.

Does anyone know the statue of limitations on a collection account? If it is mine, is there a way to reduce the $2,574.54 they say I owe. Where can I find the legal information to back up my dispute?

    Thanks,

Google "statute of limitations" and debt. It will link you to some good sites. The SOL varies by state, but I can't think of any that are more than 13 years!

    CAMCO is notorious for this.
